Maria Martirosyan is a violinist and music educator with over 12 years of experience in the music industry. Her musical journey began in Armenia, where she had the privilege of studying with some of the country’s most renowned teachers. In addition to violin performance, she developed a strong foundation in music theory and played in various ensembles, refining her skills in both solo and group settings. Seven years ago, she moved to Los Angeles and was accepted into the Colburn School, a lifelong dream of hers. As a Herbert Zipper Scholar, she had the opportunity to perform in quartets, orchestras, and duets, as well as tour with the Colburn Chamber Orchestra. Maria has performed on major stages throughout her life, and her passion for music led her to pursue advanced studies in theory, reaching the AP Music Theory level. In May 2024, she graduated from Colburn and knew that her journey with the violin was far from over—she could not imagine her life without it. Teaching has always been a passion of hers. From a young age, Maria knew she wanted to be a violin teacher, and at 14, she began working with students and quickly fell in love with guiding young musicians and watching them grow. Over the years, she has taught violin and piano at the Academy of Music and Fine Arts and recently joined Rhodes School of Music while continuing to teach private students. In addition to her work as a violinist and instructor, she has a deep love for singing. She volunteers as a vocalist in a church choir and assists a children’s choir once a week, helping young singers develop their musical abilities and confidence. Maria is committed to sharing her love for the violin and inspiring the next generation of musicians. Her goal is to nurture each student’s unique potential, combining technical excellence with a deep appreciation for music.
