Austin Kenwood is a multi-instrumentalist born and raised in Glendale, California. As a kid, he graduated from a “Guitar Hero” plastic controller to a real electric guitar which blossomed into a love of composing. Learning to play bass and drums allowed him to write his own music from scratch, and so began his career as singer/songwriter. He went on to study classical guitar at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. There he learned music theory, musicianship, and piano, and completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Music. After his studies, he moved back home and began a robust career in the local music scene playing guitar, bass, drums, and even keytar in jazz, indie, emo, and hardcore bands all over Los Angeles.
When it comes to teaching music, each student is different, and Austin is keenly aware of that fact. He believes music should always be engaging and wants to make sure his students are getting the most out of each lesson. Whether its learning your favorite songs, understanding music theory, or honing your craft as a songwriter, Austin will make sure you’re checking all the boxes and having a blast along the way!
